Supported Employment Crews
how it works:
Supported Employment Crews are comprised of one Kings Rehabilitation Center supervisor and three clients. Transportation to and from the job is provided by Kings Rehabilitation Center.
Clients (developmentally disabled) are paid a commensurate rate, which could be at a sub minimum wage, based on their productivity. Similar to contract labor the entire crew of clients and supervisor remain as employees of Kings Rehabilitation Center. Kings Rehabilitation Center absorbs all employee costs for liability insurance, workman’s compensation, and benefits.
Training and job coaching are provided by the on-site supervisor based pre-determined outlined responsibilities.
Bid is submitted and agreed upon based on four (4) individuals and associated costs. Invoicing and payment for services provided is done on a monthly basis.
Individual Placement
how it works:
Client will become one of your employees. They can be full or part-time hours.
Kings Rehabilitation Center provides an on site job coach at no cost to the employer. Job coach will supervise activities, conduct on going evaluation assessment, and act as a liaison until client is trained and able to go independently. Job coach will eventually be weaned to weekly visits only providing on going follow up and support.
Employers may be eligible to receive Kings County Enterprise Tax Credit Incentive:
- 50% of the clients’ wages can be recovered for first year
- 40% of the clients’ wages can be recovered for second year
- 30% of the clients’ wages can be recovered for third year
- 20% of the clients’ wages can be recovered for fourth year
- 10% of the clients’ wages can be recovered for fifth year
